N.J. weather: Find a cooling center near you as heat wave approaches (2024)

With dangerously high temperatures slated to hit New Jersey from Tuesday through Saturday, many counties are preparing to combat the heat by providing cooling centers for vulnerable populations.

Temperatures will reach the 90s throughout the week. Friday and Saturday are expected to be the hottest days, with temperatures nearing 100 degrees in some parts of the state. Some New Jersey school districts are already planning for early dismissals due to the heat.

Cooling centers will be located in areas such as libraries, community facilities, fire houses and police departments.
